Datafied is an independent smart building advisory working across commercial, healthcare and retail property. We help property owners, fund managers and facilities teams adopt the latest building technologies and turn them into real outcomes, backed by proven technical expertise and hands-on operational experience.

Our work spans operational technology, building management systems, integrated communications networks (ICN), point-of-care clinical systems, data and integrated facilities management, always from the client's side of the table.

We've been running since 2023, the team brings 15+ years of experience, and we've supported more than $15B in asset value. We're growing, and this is a senior role with real influence over how we deliver.

The role

You'll lead the majority of our commercial property work, reporting to the Director. It's a breadth role. You'll need to be credible across BMS and controls, OT networks and security systems, and able to run a job from scoping to client sign-off without someone looking over your shoulder.

You'll also support our healthcare work where needed, so no two weeks look the same.

What you'll do

• Lead client delivery. Scope the work, survey sites, assess condition, write options reports and specifications, run tenders and evaluations, oversee delivery, witness commissioning and sign off on the client's behalf.
• Cover the technical breadth. See the list below.
• Own the commercials on your jobs. You're accountable for scope, budget and profitability on the jobs you lead, from proposal through to final invoice.
• Support our hospital work. Help where needed on ICT systems, CMMS and documentation.
• Support business development. Join client meetings, shape capability content and write case studies.
• Lead people as we grow. Supervise and mentor a Project Engineer when that role is added.

The technical breadth

• Smart building technology stack, enabling data-driven insights and maintenance practices
• BMS optimisation and controls recommendations, analytics reviews and plant sequences
• BMS upgrade and controller replacement planning
• ICN modernisation: network reviews, IP addressing, segmentation and migration
• Access control and digital wallet credential enablement
• OT asset registers and OT cyber hygiene

What you'll bring

• 7+ years in building services, controls, OT or smart building work, client-side or with a service provider
• Hands-on experience with at least two major BMS platforms
• Working knowledge of OT networks: IP addressing, VLANs, segmentation and ICN design
• Working knowledge of access control, CCTV and credential systems
• Clear technical writing, and the confidence to run client meetings on your own
• The ability to scope, estimate and track your own jobs to budget
• A construction induction card and driver's licence
• Able to pass the police and health checks healthcare sites require

A bonus if you have

• Deep specialism in BMS analytics and optimisation, or in OT networks and cyber
• A degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronic engineering, or equivalent
• Healthcare, PPP or premium-grade commercial office experience
• Current data visualisation and AI skills, using the latest tools to analyse building data and speed up delivery
• Awareness of OT cyber standards such as IEC 62443 and the ACSC Essential Eight
